Youth and Family Ministry LOOK AT OUR NEW NAME! Y.A.P. (YOUTH'S AWESOME POWER!) Working Together as a Team in God's World! Here is our Monthly Schedule: Y.A.P's 2009 Gathering Schedule for Friday Nights - January 2nd at 6:00 p.m.
- January 16th at 6:00 p.m.
- January 30th at 6:00 p.m.
- AND POSSIBLY A SENIOR HIGH YOUTH GROUP!
Why a youth group?  A youth group helps faith in youth of all ages to grow. A youth group also helps the youth to become acquainted with their church. I do encourage the youth to come to our church or go to their own church. They can interact with the Bible through a lesson and do an activity (which the youth seem to enjoy). They can meet new friends and do not have to worry about the stress of everyday life, like homework. Many may believe that a youth group is one that you have to go to church. You are always encouraged to go to church, whether it be yours or ours, but everyone can become closer to God and Jesus through activities that we prepare for you. Many may also believe that all you do at a youth group meeting is talk about the Bible. We have engaging lessons from the Bible that sometimes lead us into more involved activities. What do we do at our gathering?Each gathering there are a variety of activities. We look at passages from the Bible, we do an activity and we have fellowship time together. Friends are always welcome. Remember the song, "Red and Yellow, Black and White they are precious in His sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world." No matter who you are, we welcome you with a warm and open heart. Look for many changes to come! What outside the church activities do we do?- Bowling
- Roller/Ice Skating
- Golfing
- Swimming
- Fundraising
- Sight and Sound
- Amusement parks-either Knoebels or Hershey Park or Six Flags
- Youth Sundays
- Fellowship time
- Lock-ins
- and MUCH, MUCH MORE!
As the youth and family ministry director, I mail information to our youth and family members every month. At this time, the youth group supports all youth ages (Pre-kindergarten - Early college ages). Friends are always welcome! A friend helps those who have fallen to lend a helping hand to get back up and try something new, The Y.A.P. GATHERINGS. All gatherings take place at our church unless otherwise indicated. If you need directions, check out our 'home' page and follow the link on the 'top' to find directions or use the e-mail I have listed below to contact me. All gatherings are at 6:00 p.m. Sometimes when we do activities, meeting times are changed, but as the youth director, I will let you know. Center has formed a youth committee. It will meet at various times. Next meeting will be in January 2009. Please read your weekly bulletin announcements. The committee is diligently working on various items, please offer your opinions where necessary. A.J. Zimmerman (that's me) will be going for his Youth Certification training from September until April 2008-2009. A message from A.J.: The Lord has promised us all good things. The Lord calls us with different calls. For me, youth ministry is just one of the great calls that I have received. I look forward to every meeting and preparing new activities and lessons that teach each youth life's creative message. It doesn't matter how you look at life, there are always twists and turns. Youth and Family Ministry is geared towards all of us working together. Hence that is the reason our motto stands as: Working Together as a Team in God's World! My hope is to connect to youth of every age. This group is geared towards every age, yes, all at one time. It is great to see youth of all ages working together. So may the Lord's light shine on you!
